Iacob Dominte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Seminar CS's Costin Tomoiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iacob Dominte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mugur Ciocâltea hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Gelu Belu might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Piţurcă. Seminar CS's Daniel Piţurcă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Comăneci in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid's zone, Costin Tomoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iacob Dominte came out of the goal and Costin Tomoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusebiu Comăneci was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Seminar CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Găman to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute, Felix Morozan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Gelu Belu came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gelu Belu couldn't finish the play. 64 minutes into the game, Costin Tomoiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Iacob Dominte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Morozan struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Iacob Dominte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seminar CS. Iacob Dominte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Tomoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real Madrid. In the 98th minute there was a penalty for Seminar CS. Iacob Drăgan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Iacob Dominte. 4-0. Seminar CS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
