Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolo Basualdo in the 5th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes Deportivo Popolizio FBC got a freekick which was hit by Geir Søfteland. 9 minutes into the game, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hermann Hesse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Petrică Măcriș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hermann Hesse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 45thth minute of the game Elpidio Francis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Hermann Hesse was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Elpidio Francis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermann Hesse was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bartolo Basualdo to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Deportivo Popolizio FBC defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hermann Hesse. The Deportivo Popolizio FBC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermann Hesse should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Damian Regulez got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Branislav Velchevski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erruki Velarroa went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the Deportivo Popolizio FBC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA.
