After 18 played minutes ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ got a freekick which was hit by Diego-Pablo Simeone. 18 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Petrică Măcriș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaime Senin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

André Monclús took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jaime Senin. Jaime Senin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ made a substitution. Luis Rius replaced Efrain Incendio. With a little luck, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski got control of the ball when Luis Rius tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mustafa Ali Cansoy kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Luis Rius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dobromir Bentkowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luis Rius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Branislav Velchevski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Rius's shot from short distance in the 97th minute.
