The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felix Beat showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 5 minutes Clapham Comets F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Michal Budzyn who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Tod Freeman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Clapham Comets F.C.'s Felix Beat did a great save. Felix Beat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şükür Hagi in the 7th minute of the match. Felix Beat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glyn Everard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Le Tissier in the 12th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Grant Blacknell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Şükür Hagi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 played minutes Leicester Lions got a freekick which was hit by Glyn Everard. Barrie Newell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Grant Blacknell made a huge save. Clapham Comets F.C.'s Felix Beat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Rhodes in the 30th minute of play. Sammy Le Tissier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Grant Blacknell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Tom Rosický hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Şükür Hagi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Leicester Lions getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Şükür Hagi hit a great ball. In the 54th minute Sammy Le Tissier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute Camron Rhodes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Beat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Beat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Camron Rhodes in the 59th minute. The supporters of Leicester Lions booed when Clapham Comets F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Zinchenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Clapham Comets F.C.'s Felix Beat got control of the ball when Şükür Hagi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66thth minute of the game Barrie Newell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Felix Beat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Camron Rhodes. Felix Beat made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Camron Rhodes sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glyn Everard in the 73rd minute of play forced Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Felix Beat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Leicester Lions players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
