After a rather tough play, Gone With the Win's Lewis Piercy got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute of the game Ian Browne made a throw-in which Lewis Piercy played forward. Thomas Jan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vilhelm Sellberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugh Wilkinson having to make a save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joseph Allwright stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Gone With the Win booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duncan Draper during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th minute, Harvey Featherstone sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Carlisle United's Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan didn't even have to move. Gone With the Win's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stew Lonsdale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomas Jan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Gone With the Win's goalkeeper Hugh Wilkinson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Jan. If Blair Broadhurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
