When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olly Nethercot to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Ionuț Mureșan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthieu Abelard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd minute, Keith Knightley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthieu Abelard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tyrone Meehan in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th play minute Keith Knightley came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tim Johnstone. 2-2. Matthieu Abelard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ionuț Mureșan's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Olly Nethercot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Tigers made a substitution. Carl Atkins replaced Ionuț Mureșan. The audience was convinced that Olly Nethercot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tim Johnstone was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. 83 minutes into the match, The Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Olly Nethercot came free, but Tim Johnstone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonatan Fredericksen during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Club Atlético de Newell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olly Nethercot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keith Knightley during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético de Newell's Keith Knightley got a free kick in the 93rd minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. The Tigers had played much better football throughout.
