Matthieu Abelard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Medley in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Mayo's goalkeeper Will Ferdinand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Greg Bastow. Seb Newman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the game, Keith Knightley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Will Ferdinand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Keith Knightley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Will Ferdinand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greg Bastow succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 25th playminute. In the 33rd minute, Idacio Ballejos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ken Roberts hit a great ball. Will Ferdinand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seb Newman in the 36th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Idacio Ballejos came free, but Matthieu Abelard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seb Newman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felipe Ourente during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Will Ferdinand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith Knightley in the 55th minute of the match. David Medley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Matthieu Abelard made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith Knightley in the 62nd minute of play forced Mayo's goalkeeper Will Ferdinand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Seb Newman kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Gonzalo Montiel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mayo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético de Newell the free kick. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle.
