Pete Pope blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ross Armitage having to make a save. Pete Pope spun around in front of the goal 5 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Henley on Thames United's goal. Ross Armitage made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Tommy Sparks sent off a good shot on target. Dorking United FC's Trevor Burns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rowan Ryder in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Henley on Thames United's Glenn Westwood got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 21st minute Jeremy Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevor Burns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorking United FC's Trevor Burns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glenn Westwood in the 22nd minute of play. Alfred Boland kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Ross Armitage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darius Dimmock, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Rowan Ryder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trevor Burns. Dorking United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rowan Ryder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 44 minutes of play, Henley on Thames United's Rowan Ryder made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trevor Burns was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 48th minute Rowan Ryder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevor Burns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Trevor Burns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremy Gray in the 51st minute. Ross Armitage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pete Pope, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Ralph Lumb got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony Plumber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevor Burns having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, João Vítor Donato cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Trevor Burns was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Henley on Thames United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
