Manos Melogiannis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panos Antoniadis in the 29th minute of the match. Dimitris Kapopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Omiros Kaloumenos had several of the ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 32 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Julian Cuesta as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 34 minutes, Pantelis Iordanakos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. and the Sheriff players grew even worse after the yellow card.
