In the 10th minute Marinos Kavouridis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanasis Vrasidas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manos Partalakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Mattei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mean Machine's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Panos Paraskevas in the 13th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hyllos Hagias during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Panionios MK booed when Mean Machine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hyllos Hagias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giorgos Kalabokis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Thanasis Vrasidas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanasis Vrasidas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charilaos Kalokerinos in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Mattei came free, but Manos Partalakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kacper Naskrent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manos Partalakis having to interfere. Manos Partalakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kacper Naskrent in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giorgos Kalabokis got free with Thanasis Vrasidas in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Mattei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Mattei in the 52nd minute of play forced Panionios MK's goalkeeper Manos Partalakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thanasis Vrasidas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Giorgos Kalabokis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thanasis Vrasidas was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Panionios MK's Manos Partalakis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Panionios MK from getting a goal against them. Spyros Konstantatos hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Mean Machine's Thanasis Vrasidas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giorgos Kalabokis in the 83rd minute of play. Thanasis Vrasidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marinos Kavouridis, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute.
