Ilias Gouziotis hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Nikos Kalkavouras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marinos Kabouris was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 8th minute, Fanis Kokkinopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Πυργετός Fc getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Marinos Kabouris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The attack was good, but when Timos Vrachnos in the 21st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Vladimiros Anatolakis came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Πυργετός Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimiros Anatolakis couldn't finish the play. Πυργετός Fc's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miltos Kousourakis in the 28th minute. Ilias Gouziotis hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Marinos Kabouris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babbis Charalambidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Nikos Platonidis hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. A collision led to Πυργετός Fc getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Argyris Karanastasis hit a great ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Πυργετός Fc's Anthimos Kousouridis got his second yellow card of the match in the 51st minute. The referee ordered Anthimos Kousouridis off the ground. Babbis Charalambidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Marinos Kabouris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of ΟΦΗ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Πυργετός Fc:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonis Papagrigoriou during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ΟΦΗ's Antonis Papagrigoriou got a free kick in the 64th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timos Vrachnos in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Theofanis Marinakis saved ΟΦΗ from getting behind. Theofanis Marinakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timos Vrachnos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ΟΦΗ's Theofanis Marinakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timos Vrachnos in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Nikos Platonidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Minas Tsalamagas kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Theofanis Marinakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miltos Kousourakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 89th minute Nikos Kalkavouras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marinos Kabouris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, ΟΦΗ's Minas Tsalamagas got a free kick in the 91st minute. Babbis Prokos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Marinos Kabouris when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Πυργετός Fc's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nikos Kalkavouras 98 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-6. ΟΦΗ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
