Spectators: 191 (Terracing: 144, Seating: 44, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luka Reich started the match with the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hamburg Fighters fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! Hamburg Fighters:s Matthew Jastrzembowski showed great skill when he stopped Erasmus Kammholz:s penalty. In the 5th minute, Erasmus Kammholz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthew Jastrzembowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Norbert Lillge kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC 08 Brühl's Rurik Ellinghaus got control of the ball when Walt Schräder tried to sneak it across the goal line. The FC 08 Brühl fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when FC 08 Brühl's Lukas Podolski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 16th minute Reşit Selman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Jastrzembowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rurik Ellinghaus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walt Schräder in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuno Wittwer in the 32nd minute of play forced Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Matthew Jastrzembowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC 08 Brühl's Erasmus Kammholz got a free kick in the 36th minute. 43 minutes into the game, FC 08 Brühl's Kuno Wittwer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthew Jastrzembowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Lukas Podolski scored 0-5 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matthew Jastrzembowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lukas Podolski was the one to do the kick off. Matthew Jastrzembowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukas Podolski in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Lukas Podolski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC 08 Brühl's Reşit Selman got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Matthew Jastrzembowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hamburg Fighters's Matthew Jastrzembowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Hamburg Fighters from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Hamburg Fighters's Kilian Gutrath got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Reşit Selman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walt Schräder kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Lukas Podolski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthew Jastrzembowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Lukas Podolski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC 08 Brühl's zone, Luka Reich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rurik Ellinghaus came out of the goal and Luka Reich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 played minutes FC 08 Brühl got a freekick which was hit by Kuno Wittwer. If Lukas Podolski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamburg Fighters's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Lukas Podolski scored to the left of an out of position Matthew Jastrzembowski, making the score, 0-7. Erasmus Kammholz struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Matthew Jastrzembowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC 08 Brühl. The FC 08 Brühl supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC 08 Brühl would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
