Alemannia Aachen's Theo Nadolski couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. But to his dismay, Timo Bezka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. 92 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when Timo Bezka came free, but Engelbert Heidemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Dario Lindenthal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alemannia Aachen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
