Tom Eberhardt struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Volker Timmermann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. After a rather tough play, KFC Uerdingen 05's Marcus Thuram got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute, Ludwig Gänßle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Fritz Fograscher in the 13th minute really tested Gabriel Wischnowsky's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience was convinced that Julian Froylan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Volker Timmermann was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 35thth minute of the game Julian Froylan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 37 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Piepenburg came free, but Gabriel Wischnowsky reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Froylan in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Volker Timmermann saved PoznanGalaxy from getting behind. In the 42nd minute Luis Piepenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Wischnowsky saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Wischnowsky showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Piepenburg in the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Froylan made a kick off. PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save PoznanGalaxy from getting a goal against them. In the 51st minute of the match, Julian Froylan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Volker Timmermann saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, PoznanGalaxy's Onno Knaack got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Tom Eberhardt shot a long shot in the 54th minute and a light blocked Volker Timmermann hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-3. Volker Timmermann was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tom Eberhardt. Edin Džeko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Volker Timmermann made a huge save. With a little luck, PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann got control of the ball when Julian Froylan tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Julian Froylan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Volker Timmermann. Julian Froylan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 69th minute KFC Uerdingen 05 were awarded a corner. Tom Eberhardt went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Tom Eberhardt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Volker Timmermann quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 73 minutes into the match, PoznanGalaxy's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Froylan came free, but Volker Timmermann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Volker Timmermann managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when KFC Uerdingen 05's Julian Froylan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 78 minutes into the game, one of PoznanGalaxy:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Volker Timmermann, was totally fooled by KFC Uerdingen 05's Tom Eberhardt, who 80 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 82 minutes, Timo Wegner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Uerdingen 05's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timo Wegner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Volker Timmermann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Froylan in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute Julian Froylan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Timmermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KFC Uerdingen 05 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
