Spectators: 195 (Terracing: 147, Seating: 45, VIP seats: 3) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ben Labigne made the kick off which started today's match. Pierre Möhn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Till Geppert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Florian Guderian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clóvis Tróia in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the game, Pierre Möhn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sydney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hannover Reds the free kick. After 12 minutes of play, Hannover Reds's Arvid Kuntz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florian Guderian was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Arvid Kuntz sped through Sydney FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Florian Guderian. Florian Guderian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Labigne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florian Guderian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arvid Kuntz in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florian Guderian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Florian Guderian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvid Kuntz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, Hannover Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Labigne to maneuver through the defense. Pierre Möhn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ben Labigne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florian Guderian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 44th minute of play. Marcus Bensch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florian Guderian having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jakov Stähr was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Hermann Zach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florian Guderian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvid Kuntz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hippolyt Esche kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jakov Stähr in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Till Geppert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Hinrik Grobmaul hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's Hermann Zach broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Arvid Kuntz scored 0-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florian Guderian, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Sydney FC defense, Arvid Kuntz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florian Guderian. The Sydney FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florian Guderian should have stopped the shot. After 78 played minutes Hannover Reds got a freekick which was hit by Arvid Kuntz. Florian Guderian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvid Kuntz in the 85th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Florian Guderian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paavo Burgdorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paavo Burgdorf hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Gabriel Michel got a free kick in the 96th minute. Hannover Reds's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
