The supporters of Hannover Reds booed when KFC Uerdingen 05 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Breiffel didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Hannover Reds's Gabriel Wischnowsky threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ben Labigne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gabriel Wischnowsky made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 15th minute of play. Ariel Breiffel struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Till Geppert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. Stephan Wayer hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Ben Labigne came free, but Gabriel Wischnowsky reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ben Labigne to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute, KFC Uerdingen 05's Marcus Thuram seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marcus Thuram the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of KFC Uerdingen 05 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marcus Thuram had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Marcus Thuram kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. KFC Uerdingen 05's Gabriel Wischnowsky played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metin Suerkan in the 63rd minute of play. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KFC Uerdingen 05 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
