Niklas Sauter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Halldor Sönksen in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8thth minute of the game Cirilo Urki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SV Bad Harzburg's Tim Wiese was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lars Schira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Niklas Sauter got control of the ball when Lars Schira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tim Wiese showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cirilo Urki, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute Eckard Döngelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niklas Sauter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Halldor Sönksen to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, one of SV Bad Harzburg:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. SV Bad Harzburg:s Tim Wiese showed great skill when he stopped Cirilo Urki:s penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Peters during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes SV Bad Harzburg got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Peters. Tim Wiese made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Cirilo Urki sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Halldor Sönksen put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Niklas Sauter. With his leg Tim Wiese managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Cirilo Urki fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 68 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Halldor Sönksen came free, but Niklas Sauter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Tim Wiese threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Junior Adamu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SV Bad Harzburg.
