After 3 minutes, Gabriel Michel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the Hannover Reds players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Sydney FC from getting a goal against them. In the 6th minute of the match Kai Petermann sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Till Geppert skillfully saved the ball. After 16 minutes, Marcus Bensch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hannover Reds and the Sydney FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, Marcus Bensch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Arvid Kuntz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arvid Kuntz came free, but Rasmus Gölz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben Labigne in the 28th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Rasmus Gölz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Adnan Tilner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 minutes of play, Hannover Reds's Ben Labigne made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rasmus Gölz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paavo Burgdorf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben Labigne in the 47th minute of the match.

50 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paavo Burgdorf came free, but Rasmus Gölz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rasmus Gölz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 52nd minute of play. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goalkeeper Till Geppert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jakov Stähr. Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvid Kuntz in the 60th minute of play. Arvid Kuntz kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 66 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Kai Petermann. In the 72nd minute, Hippolyt Esche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hermann Zach came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Hannover Reds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermann Zach couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre Möhn got free with Till Geppert in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arvid Kuntz in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rasmus Gölz saved Sydney FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Hannover Reds's Arvid Kuntz got a free kick in the 81st minute. 87 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Bensch came free, but Rasmus Gölz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Hermann Zach got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rasmus Gölz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arvid Kuntz in the 92nd minute of the match. Arvid Kuntz took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rasmus Gölz. Rasmus Gölz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hannover Reds had played much better football throughout.
