Cirilo Urki ran back to his position shaking his head. 3 minutes into the match, PoznanGalaxy's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Urki came free, but Volker Timmermann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cirilo Urki in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Volker Timmermann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Volker Timmermann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Urki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 minutes PoznanGalaxy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cosmo Muth who took care of the corner kick. Vahid Kaas thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Volker Timmermann, a very annoying self made goal in the 15th minute which led to 0-1. Cirilo Urki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Volker Timmermann having to make a save. PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cirilo Urki in the 17th minute of play. Cirilo Urki might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Volker Timmermann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 48th minute Cirilo Urki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Timmermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fritz Fograscher stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Cirilo Urki got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Cirilo Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann got control of the ball when Cirilo Urki tried to sneak it across the goal line. Volker Timmermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cirilo Urki, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. A collision led to PoznanGalaxy getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Baldur Härle hit a great ball. Volker Timmermann was a little too slow when Cirilo Urki got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-3. PoznanGalaxy's Volker Timmermann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save PoznanGalaxy from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the game, Cirilo Urki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Volker Timmermann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Volker Timmermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hartwig Kuhn in the 91st minute of the match.
