The corner ended in Claudio Gentile almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu did a great save. Olimpiu Oncescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urs Nebunu in the 10th minute of the match. Leontin Titulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olimpiu Oncescu having to interfere. Florin Pâslaru kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After having played for 15 minutes, Bruno Gotti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carpathians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Gotti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Basarab Pârcălab showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudiu Popescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Stoicii's Mugur Aldulea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Basarab Pârcălab. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Comișel in the 22nd minute of play. Carpathians's Bruno Gotti got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruno Gotti took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olimpiu Oncescu. Olimpiu Oncescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Olimpiu Oncescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Gotti in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Bruno Gotti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Olimpiu Oncescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Basarab Pârcălab showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Comișel in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Comișel in the 36th minute of play forced Carpathians's goalkeeper Basarab Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpiu Oncescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Gotti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Bruno Gotti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olimpiu Oncescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After the first half Carpathians were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the match had been going on for 60 minutes, Carpathians's Nuno Bettencourt got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Olimpiu Oncescu. Bruno Gotti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olimpiu Oncescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Basarab Pârcălab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matei Comișel in the 67th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Stoicii's Mugur Aldulea got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute Matei Comișel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Pârcălab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basarab Pârcălab showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Comișel in the 76th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Bruno Gotti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Olimpiu Oncescu. That made the score 1-5 in the 80 minute of play. In the 90th minute, Urs Nebunu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Olimpiu Oncescu. The goal made the score 1-6. Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Stoicii from getting a goal against them. Urs Nebunu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Olimpiu Oncescu made a huge save. Carpathians played a much better game than Stoicii and deserved their victory. The Stoicii players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
