Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Stoicii from getting a goal against them. 11 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Comișel came free, but Basarab Pârcălab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Mugur Aldulea notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab. Basarab Pârcălab was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 19 played minutes Stoicii got a freekick which was hit by Matei Comișel. Olimpiu Oncescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Big Blond in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugur Aldulea in the 21st minute of play forced Carpathians's goalkeeper Basarab Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Matei Comișel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Basarab Pârcălab was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Gotti in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olimpiu Oncescu saved Stoicii from getting behind. In the 33rd minute Bruno Gotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olimpiu Oncescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Gotti in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Gotti in the 35th minute of play forced Stoicii's goalkeeper Olimpiu Oncescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpiu Oncescu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlos Santana showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 36 minute of play. Olimpiu Oncescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Gotti in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Big Blond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Comișel in the 46th minute of play forced Carpathians's goalkeeper Basarab Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Olimpiu Oncescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Iztal in the 53rd minute of play. Dudu Georgescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olimpiu Oncescu having to interfere. Basarab Pârcălab made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Matei Comișel sent off a good shot on target. Mugur Aldulea struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Basarab Pârcălab didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stoicii. Carpathians made a substitution. Pavel Bara replaced Cristi Goiceanu. Olimpiu Oncescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Gotti in the 61st minute of play. Mugur Aldulea's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Basarab Pârcălab firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 67 minutes, Matei Comișel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stoicii and the Carpathians players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olimpiu Oncescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Gotti, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Iztal in the 69th minute of play. Basarab Pârcălab made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matei Comișel in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Gotti in the 76th minute of play forced Stoicii's goalkeeper Olimpiu Oncescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 played minutes Carpathians got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Petrică. In the 80th minute, Stoicii's Claudiu Popescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Basarab Pârcălab. Basarab Pârcălab yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 83rd minute Bruno Gotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olimpiu Oncescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Carlos Santana notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu. Olimpiu Oncescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruno Gotti's late challenge caught a Stoicii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Gotti helped the player get up and apologised. The Carpathians supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Stoicii's performance. The match ended with a win for Stoicii.
