Nae Pavel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petruț Vlăsiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Petruț Vlăsiu struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Nae Pavel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galati Harbour Cats. After a defensive mix-up in U Craiova's zone, Petruț Vlăsiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nae Pavel came out of the goal and Petruț Vlăsiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The corner led to Galati Harbour Cats's Jo Bag getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Petruț Vlăsiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Isac Goșa made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Sebastian Fenici ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manole Ghiondea was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 56th minute, Jo Bag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galati Harbour Cats's Manole Ghiondea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isac Goșa in the 59th minute of play. When Emanuel Ionașcu fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U Craiova's protests and gave Emanuel Ionașcu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U Craiova getting a freekick after 62 minutes play.
