Manole Ghiondea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Teleagă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Virgil Vergulescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rovine Craiova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Virgil Vergulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Manole Ghiondea made a huge save. 20 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Manole Ghiondea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basarab Teleagă. In the 21st minute of the match, Basarab Teleagă got a very nice opportunity to score, but Manole Ghiondea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Basarab Teleagă came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Rovine Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basarab Teleagă couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Galati Harbour Cats's Manole Ghiondea got control of the ball when Virgil Vergulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manole Ghiondea was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Virgil Vergulescu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Adam Vasiloiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Ghiondea having to interfere. When Ion Bulencea fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galati Harbour Cats's protests and gave Ion Bulencea a yellow card for diving instead. Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dacian Patrichi 36 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. 39 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Manole Ghiondea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basarab Teleagă. Adam Vasiloiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Manole Ghiondea made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Teleagă in the 48th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Manole Ghiondea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Dacian Patrichi scored 5-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manole Ghiondea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Manole Ghiondea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Vergulescu in the 61st minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Dacian Patrichi came free, but Manole Ghiondea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manole Ghiondea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihnea Măcriș, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute.
