An unexpectedly hard shot by Leontin Iacobescu in the 13th minute of play forced AFC Barcelona's goalkeeper Petrică Arghirescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AFC Barcelona booed when MIT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabin Eniceicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leontin Iacobescu struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Petrică Arghirescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MIT. After 22 played minutes MIT got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Ciolacu. Vlad Anghel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gabriel Iacobeanu. 32 minutes into the match, AFC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Leontin Iacobescu came free, but Petrică Arghirescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petrică Arghirescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leontin Iacobescu went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. AFC Barcelona's Petrică Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leontin Iacobescu in the 36th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Tiberiu Chibulcutean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Barcelona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MIT the free kick. Tiberiu Chibulcutean kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Leontin Iacobescu made a precise shot to the right of Petrică Arghirescu. AFC Barcelona's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 44 minutes into the match, Leontin Iacobescu notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of AFC Barcelona's Petrică Arghirescu. Petrică Arghirescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leontin Iacobescu to make the kick off. A hard shot 64 in the game by Leontin Iacobescu from a close distance when the talented Petrică Arghirescu managed to make a qualified save. AFC Barcelona's players were relieved. In the 77th minute, Cristinel Bocaneț ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petrică Arghirescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 0-10 when Leontin Iacobescu sped through AFC Barcelona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Petrică Arghirescu. Petrică Arghirescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leontin Iacobescu in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of AFC Barcelona booed when MIT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavius Câmpeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petrică Arghirescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leontin Iacobescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petrică Arghirescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Glodeanu in the 94th minute of the match. When the match was over MIT could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AFC Barcelona throughout the match.
