Paul Bărbat helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Paul Bărbat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remus Vrejiu hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Silviu Lung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Bărbat in the 17th minute of the match. Robert Scorţea didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 20th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 26th minute, Remus Vrejiu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silviu Lung was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 30 minutes into the game, Stiinta-Univ.'s Irinel Itoafă nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robert Scorţea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Silviu Lung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remus Vrejiu in the 33rd minute of play. Cavalerii Viola's Robert Scorţea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Corduneanu in the 35th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Traian Lupescu to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cavalerii Viola getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Dinu Talianu hit a great ball. After 45 minutes, Horaţiu Corduneanu made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cavalerii Viola's Robert Scorţea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

With a little luck, Stiinta-Univ.'s Silviu Lung got control of the ball when Nechifor Tăutu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 55th minute, Sandu Negara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Horaţiu Corduneanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert Scorţea. Cavalerii Viola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horaţiu Corduneanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Irinel Itoafă hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Remus Vrejiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cavalerii Viola's supporters rose to their feet, but Remus Vrejiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silviu Lung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silviu Lung made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Paul Bărbat sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Cavalerii Viola getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Marian Uncheşelu hit a great ball. Paul Bărbat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Cavalerii Viola booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matei Giosu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silviu Lung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Uncheşelu in the 84th minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Marian Uncheşelu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cavalerii Viola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marian Uncheşelu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Irinel Itoafă hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Cavalerii Viola defense, Horaţiu Corduneanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robert Scorţea. The Cavalerii Viola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robert Scorţea should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stiinta-Univ. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cavalerii Viola had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
