Cazimir Curteanu started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Simared -MM-'s Silviu Miron got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Silviu Miron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Zoff having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Ernest Cazimir successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 19 minutes into the match, Simared -MM-'s goalkeeper Ernest Cazimir had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusebiu Godeanu. When Emanuel Chirea fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Simared -MM-'s protests and gave Emanuel Chirea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Simared -MM- getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Emanuel Chirea hit a great ball. In the 36th match minute, Simared -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olimpiu Breazu to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 38 minutes into the game, when Olimpiu Breazu put in a rough tackle. After 38 played minutes Simared -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Breazu. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vintilă Hălmăgeanu was the one to do the kick off. Cazimir Curteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Dino Zoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 minutes, Dumitru Covrig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cormoranii -MM- and the Simared -MM- players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dumitru Covrig hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 60th play minute Cazimir Curteanu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dino Zoff. 1-1. Ernest Cazimir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vintilă Hălmăgeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Simared -MM-'s Narcis Dragalina got a free kick in the 68th minute. Ernest Cazimir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bobby Fischer, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Cazimir Curteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dino Zoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dino Zoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Curteanu in the 90th minute of play. Simared -MM-'s Manole Izvoranu was substituted for Tiberiu Huștea. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 90th minute of the game. One of Cormoranii -MM-:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Simared -MM-:s goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
