After 2 played minutes Hope AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dacian Capisizu. In the 3rd minute Aurel Huștiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Comănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rareș Papadima fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Unicorns ™'s protests and gave Rareș Papadima a yellow card for diving instead. Rareș Papadima hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hope AFC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Bartolo Oso hit a great ball. The Unicorns ™ fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Unicorns ™'s Rareș Papadima looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gheorghe Comănescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ştefan Vâtcă in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Rareș Papadima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Comănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Unicorns ™'s Petrică Ţirpescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gheorghe Comănescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sebastian Purje fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corneliu Vulpăşin having to interfere. Corneliu Vulpăşin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Barbu in the 36th minute of the match. Corneliu Vulpăşin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Barbu in the 36th minute of play. Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Unicorns ™ from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute, Iacob Surdu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Unicorns ™ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tudor Bodea was the one to do the kick off. Bartolo Oso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Corneliu Vulpăşin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Dorin Plăcintă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bartolo Oso in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Corneliu Vulpăşin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Hope AFC booed when Unicorns ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ştefan Vâtcă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petrică Ţirpescu's late challenge caught a Hope AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petrică Ţirpescu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Unicorns ™'s Petrică Ţirpescu got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Rareș Papadima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 65 minutes, Iacob Surdu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Unicorns ™ and the Hope AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Unicorns ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iacob Surdu to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Purje in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Corneliu Vulpăşin saved Unicorns ™ from getting behind. After having played for 68 minutes, Bartolo Oso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hope AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartolo Oso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Purje in the 70th minute of play. Petruț Aursulesei's late challenge caught a Unicorns ™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petruț Aursulesei helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Unicorns ™ booed when Hope AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gheorghe Comănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rareș Papadima, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Bartolo Oso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Vulpăşin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 86 played minutes Unicorns ™ got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Papadima. Corneliu Vulpăşin came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Hope AFC's Bartolo Oso. But to his dismay, Bartolo Oso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When Petrică Ţirpescu came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Unicorns ™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petrică Ţirpescu couldn't finish the play. The Hope AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Unicorns ™'s performance. The match ended with a win for Unicorns ™.
