After 10 played minutes Scorpions -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Mihuț. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Nazım Taci put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Avram Golescu. New York Red Bulls's Eduardo Pereyra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Ţintă in the 17th minute of play. Costel Ţintă kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Scorpions -MM- defense, George Schiau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Avram Golescu. The Scorpions -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Avram Golescu should have stopped the shot. Costel Ţintă scored 3-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduardo Pereyra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of New York Red Bulls booed when Scorpions -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Zăvoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tony Dobos during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony Dobos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Scorpions -MM-'s Eric Cimpoieru was substituted for Alexandru Zăvoiu. The wind increased when Costel Ţintă made the kick off in the second half. George Schiau struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Avram Golescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New York Red Bulls.
