Diego Armando Maradona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Petre Baicea made a huge save. Petre Baicea didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Diego Armando Maradona shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 22nd minute, Diego Armando Maradona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petre Baicea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Armando Maradona's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Šako Grande went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Edmund Przybyciel heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Petre Baicea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Armando Maradona in the 38th minute of the match. Costică Ghișerel kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Petre Baicea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Armando Maradona in the 43rd minute of play. Petre Baicea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Armando Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The supporters of C Ａ R D I N Ａ L booed when Balavanis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigel Crăciun didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Balavanis's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Armando Maradona came free, but Petre Baicea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petre Baicea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Armando Maradona's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horea Vrejiu during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Horea Vrejiu hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The corner ended in Edmund Przybyciel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Balavanis's Petre Baicea did a great save. 77 minutes into the game, Diego Armando Maradona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Petre Baicea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Ingvar Hellkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save C Ａ R D I N Ａ L from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Toader Arotăriței ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ingvar Hellkvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horaţiu Vermeşan got free with Ingvar Hellkvist in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute, Diego Armando Maradona made a precise shot to the right of Petre Baicea. Balavanis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. Petre Baicea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Armando Maradona's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The C Ａ R D I N Ａ L fans cheered their team off the field, for while Balavanis had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
