In the 6th minute, Claudiu Doinaș ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Lăcătuș was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Manuel Lăcătuș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costin Babarada in the 14th minute of play. With an all-out effort, FC Vlahuță's Manuel Lăcătuș threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Radomir Czerwinski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Radomir Czerwinski scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel Lăcătuș, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Republica Ploiești defense, Claudiu Doinaș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manuel Lăcătuș. The Republica Ploiești fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Lăcătuș should have stopped the shot. Mihai Rusu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Firea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Costică Barbu fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Republica Ploiești's protests and gave Costică Barbu a yellow card for diving instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The referee ignored Republica Ploiești's protests and gave Cazimir Mohora a yellow card for diving instead. 59 minutes into the match, Costin Babarada notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Republica Ploiești's Manuel Lăcătuș. Manuel Lăcătuș was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th minute, Costin Babarada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudiu Doinaș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Lăcătuș read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Tiberiu Dindelegan kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Costin Babarada had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Lăcătuș. Republica Ploiești's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Costin Babarada was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Emanuel Firea kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Republica Ploiești's Manuel Lăcătuș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costin Babarada in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Costin Babarada ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Lăcătuș was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Manuel Lăcătuș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costin Babarada, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The supporters of FC Vlahuță booed when Republica Ploiești was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Dindelegan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petru Bute received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Manuel Lăcătuș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costin Babarada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th match minute, Republica Ploiești was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Ivăncioiu to maneuver through the defense. Claudiu Doinaș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Vlahuță's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
