An unexpectedly hard shot by Răzvan Mumuleanu in the 4th minute of play forced FC Inter Craiova's goalkeeper Alexandru Chitimia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Inter Craiova's Alexandru Chitimia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save FC Inter Craiova from getting a goal against them. After 7 minutes, Răzvan Mumuleanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Brink and the FC Inter Craiova players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mihai Stolojan in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vlad Belu saved FC Brink from getting behind. Răzvan Mumuleanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandru Chitimia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gheorghe Herea in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute of the match, Gheorghe Herea got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alexandru Chitimia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of FC Inter Craiova booed when FC Brink was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelian Voinea didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Inter Craiova's Mihai Stolojan got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexandru Chitimia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gheorghe Herea in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Waldemar Mule made a precise shot to the right of Alexandru Chitimia. FC Inter Craiova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Inter Craiova's zone, Gheorghe Manafu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandru Chitimia came out of the goal and Gheorghe Manafu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gheorghe Herea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Chitimia having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, FC Inter Craiova's goalkeeper Alexandru Chitimia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gheorghe Manafu. If Florin Tarcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, FC Brink's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Tarcu came free, but Vlad Belu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldemar Mule in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandru Chitimia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th match minute, FC Brink was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gheorghe Herea to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florin Tarcu to make the kick off. Răzvan Mumuleanu was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to FC Brink getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Gheorghe Herea hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Waldemar Mule shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandru Chitimia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florin Tarcu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vlad Belu came out and tried to block the shot, but Florin Tarcu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 77th minute.
