With his leg Yanick Verschelde managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Quentin Thielens fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Les Bistouquettes Bleues booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 99 minutes into the game, Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Sammy Vogels nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yanick Verschelde made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. Les Bistouquettes Bleues's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
