A hard shot 2 in the game by Roy Van den Bergh from a close distance when the talented Walter Gheysen managed to make a qualified save. Silver Squad AFC's players were relieved. After some careless play in the Silver Squad AFC defense, Roy Van den Bergh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Gheysen. The Silver Squad AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Gheysen should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Silver Squad AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Lukaku came free, but Walter Gheysen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Racing Matinette were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Silver Squad AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elia Santangelo took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Silver Squad AFC's goalie and right to Roy Van den Bergh. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Silver Squad AFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Walter Gheysen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristiano Lukaku showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 18 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Walter Gheysen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Racing Matinette's Harrie Van Den Eynden got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roger Van Achtens kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Elia Santangelo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Matinette's supporters rose to their feet, but Elia Santangelo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Gheysen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Martial Du Bois kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Walter Gheysen. That made the score 4-0 in the 34 minute of play. In the 39th minute Roger Van Achtens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perry Van der Weijden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Roy Van den Bergh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Martial Du Bois could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Walter Gheysen made a huge save. Silver Squad AFC's Walter Gheysen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Lukaku in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

52 minutes into the match, Roy Van den Bergh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walter Gheysen. Silver Squad AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roy Van den Bergh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Martial Du Bois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Walter Gheysen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Silver Squad AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustav De Peuter came free, but Walter Gheysen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Silver Squad AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Van den Bergh came free, but Walter Gheysen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Gustav De Peuter sped through Silver Squad AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Walter Gheysen. Walter Gheysen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roy Van den Bergh in the 79th minute of the match. Martial Du Bois sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Racing Matinette's Roy Van den Bergh got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walter Gheysen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martial Du Bois went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Walter Gheysen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Lukaku went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Racing Matinette fully deserved thier win.
