The crowd rose to their feet as Club Brugge's Arnout Labrouche slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of William Weggers. That made the score 3-0 after 25 minutes of play. If Arnout Labrouche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Weggers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnout Labrouche in the 35th minute of play. Jamie Van Latem kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Jeff Van Den Wijngaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Luk Van Clynenbreugel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Karel De Roover might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Weggers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karel De Roover ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st match minute, Royal Antwerp FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Paelinck to maneuver through the defense. After 74 played minutes Royal Antwerp FC got a freekick which was hit by Antoine Hofnagels. In the 78th minute, Karel De Roover hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jamie Van Latem kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. William Weggers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karel De Roover, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Club Brugge were the better team. Club Brugge's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
