Jerom Walters could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Kenneth Bautmans made a huge save. Stein Staes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Kenneth Bautmans made a huge save. Kenneth Bautmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dreas Vermeiren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 7 played minutes FC Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Goethals. In the 11th minute Sleepy Soldiers FC were awarded a corner. Simon Pauwels went to the cornerflag to take it. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Simon Pauwels was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ive De Meyer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. FC Gullegem's Ive De Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herald Van Der Taelen in the 13th minute of play. Lou Mampaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Bautmans having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sleepy Soldiers FC defense, Jerom Walters kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenneth Bautmans. The Sleepy Soldiers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenneth Bautmans should have stopped the shot. Kenneth Bautmans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dreas Vermeiren's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Kenneth Bautmans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerom Walters went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Kenneth Bautmans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerom Walters in the 32nd minute. Herald Van Der Taelen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ive De Meyer having to interfere. FC Gullegem's Ive De Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herald Van Der Taelen in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Sleepy Soldiers FC booed when FC Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stein Staes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kenneth Bautmans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerom Walters went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Brent-Jan Van Lancker hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, FC Gullegem's Kenneth Bautmans threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dreas Vermeiren, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Sleepy Soldiers FC's Kenneth Bautmans got control of the ball when Jerom Walters tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerom Walters made a kick off. When Herald Van Der Taelen fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sleepy Soldiers FC's protests and gave Herald Van Der Taelen a yellow card for diving instead. Herald Van Der Taelen kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. If Jerom Walters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ive De Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herald Van Der Taelen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Gullegem's Dreas Vermeiren got a free kick in the 59th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stein Staes in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kenneth Bautmans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 71st minute, Jeremy De Mees hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the game, FC Gullegem's Stein Staes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kenneth Bautmans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. In the 77th minute Stein Staes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Bautmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Jerom Walters made a precise shot to the right of Kenneth Bautmans. Sleepy Soldiers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. FC Gullegem's Dreas Vermeiren got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kenneth Bautmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stein Staes in the 83rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sleepy Soldiers FC's zone, Dean Van Hoyveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Bautmans came out of the goal and Dean Van Hoyveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Cockaerts in the 86th minute of play forced Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Bautmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustijn Van Boxstael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ive De Meyer having to interfere. A collision led to Sleepy Soldiers FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Adolphe Roggen hit a great ball.
