Kenny Ekeberg scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Sjögren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 6 minutes into the game, Greger Lundin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rinkeby FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karlsborg the free kick. The supporters of Karlsborg booed when Rinkeby FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greger Lundin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matthias Borre took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eric Sjögren. Rinkeby FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 8 minutes, Sonny Dusett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rinkeby FC and the Karlsborg players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Rinkeby FC got a freekick which was hit by Sonny Dusett. Eric Sjögren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Norberg in the 9th minute of play. When Rinkeby FC's Andrés Alavi in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Karlsborg's goalie prevented a goal. Rinkeby FC's Eric Sjögren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Norberg in the 18th minute of play. Eric Sjögren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Ekeberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Karlsborg's Kenny Ekeberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Sjögren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Eric Sjögren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Norberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vilgot Jansson's late challenge caught a Karlsborg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vilgot Jansson helped the player get up and apologised. When Kenny Ekeberg came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Karlsborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenny Ekeberg couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans Norberg made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Karlsborg's Hans Norberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Sjögren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eric Sjögren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Ekeberg in the 58th minute of play. Andrés Alavi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Håkansson having to interfere. Kenny Ekeberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eric Sjögren came out and tried to block the shot, but Kenny Ekeberg slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 66th minute. Olof Mellberg's late challenge caught a Karlsborg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olof Mellberg helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rinkeby FC's Olof Mellberg got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Olof Mellberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Rinkeby FC booed when Karlsborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Norberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rinkeby FC's Eric Sjögren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Rinkeby FC from getting a goal against them. Eric Sjögren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Norberg in the 83rd minute of play. Karlsborg's Matthias Borre took a good shot, in the 87th minute, which hit the crossbar above Eric Sjögren's head, and flew over the goal. Rinkeby FC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Karlsborg. In the 89th minute, Olof Mellberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Karlsborg had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
