When Martin Hedlund came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the VfL Wolfsburg fans jumped to their feet. Arvid Bremming showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Fristedt in the 20th minute of the match. Fredric Rudqvist's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Olle Tunander skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Alfons Delin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. VfL Wolfsburg's Patrick Albom quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Viktor Kellberg, made in the 28th minute of the game. Fredric Rudqvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Olle Tunander when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fredric Rudqvist in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olle Tunander saved VfL Wolfsburg from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Fristedt in the 42nd minute of play forced Sacri's goalkeeper Arvid Bremming to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Jerry Fristedt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Arvid Bremming was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arvid Bremming showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfons Delin, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

VfL Wolfsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerry Fristedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Olle Tunander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredric Rudqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 83rd minute of the match, Jerry Fristedt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arvid Bremming saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Jerry Fristedt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arvid Bremming was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. 85 minutes into the match, Sacri's goal looked a bit too open when Marouane Kiefer came free, but Arvid Bremming reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing VfL Wolfsburg would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
