Gilbert Lenberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arne Askstedt in the 7th minute. If Allan Abbas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertil Hammarbäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Banas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Agne Algren fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Neuros och Psykos's protests and gave Agne Algren a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Smurfarna booed when Neuros och Psykos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agne Algren didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Per-Arne Hammarström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Forssell in the 22nd minute of play forced Neuros och Psykos's goalkeeper Gilbert Lenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Neuros och Psykos fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Neuros och Psykos's Leon Banas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bertil Hammarbäck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karl-Axel Söderlund went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 36th minute, Allan Abbas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bertil Hammarbäck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When Leonardo Gregersson fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 41st minute Arne Askstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Lenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neuros och Psykos's Karl-Axel Söderlund got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

In the 56th play minute Leon Banas came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bertil Hammarbäck. 0-5. Gilbert Lenberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arne Askstedt's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. The audience was convinced that Leon Banas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bertil Hammarbäck was relentless in the 60th minute of the game.
