The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Axel Söderlund during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Neuros och Psykos's Gilbert Lenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Askstedt in the 10th minute of play. Smurfarna's Bertil Hammarbäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Banas in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Eddie Forssell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilbert Lenberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Smurfarna's Arne Askstedt got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Arne Askstedt notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Neuros och Psykos's Gilbert Lenberg. Gilbert Lenberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karl-Axel Söderlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fritz Galle kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Askstedt in the 33rd minute of play forced Neuros och Psykos's goalkeeper Gilbert Lenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Arne Askstedt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilbert Lenberg. Neuros och Psykos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arne Askstedt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Neuros och Psykos's goalkeeper Gilbert Lenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Neuros och Psykos's Leon Banas in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Smurfarna's goalie prevented a goal. Leon Banas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Bertil Hammarbäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 44 played minutes, Neuros och Psykos's Agne Algren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bertil Hammarbäck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Neuros och Psykos reached it. The audience was convinced that Leon Banas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bertil Hammarbäck was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leon Banas to make the kick off. Bertil Hammarbäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Banas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arne Askstedt took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilbert Lenberg. Gilbert Lenberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Agne Algren hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leon Banas in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bertil Hammarbäck saved Smurfarna from getting behind. Bertil Hammarbäck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leon Banas's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Leon Banas charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leon Banas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Neuros och Psykos's Leon Banas got a free kick in the 69th minute. After 78 played minutes Neuros och Psykos got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Åke Wahlström. Bertil Hammarbäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Banas in the 87th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leon Banas in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bertil Hammarbäck saved Smurfarna from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Neuros och Psykos's zone, Arne Askstedt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Lenberg came out of the goal and Arne Askstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leon Banas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Bertil Hammarbäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 played minutes Smurfarna got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Hallgren. Leon Banas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bertil Hammarbäck. Smurfarna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Neuros och Psykos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Smurfarna's performance. The match ended with a win for Smurfarna.
