In the 4th minute Antônio Carlos Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Degerfors IF's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Hasselqvist came free, but Håkan Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Henriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Håkansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Tony Henriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuncay Cansever in the 17th minute of play. Degerfors IF's Artemio Maore quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Matthias Hedvall, made in the 19th minute of the game. Svennis Grabbar FF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tuncay Cansever 21 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 24th minute Tuncay Cansever shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Henriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tuncay Cansever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matthias Hedvall got a throw-in 27 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Göran Hamberg. Göran Hamberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute, Tuncay Cansever reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony Henriksson. The goal made the score 2-0. Håkan Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Hasselqvist in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Philip Hasselqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antônio Carlos Tasso made a kick off. Håkan Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Carlos Tasso in the 54th minute of the match. Tuncay Cansever scored 3-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Henriksson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tony Henriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Åke Fors, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 71 minutes into the game, Jarl Lindström threw the ball into play from the sideline. Degerfors IF's 김 손 quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Åke Fors might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Henriksson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Åke Fors ran back to his position shaking his head. Åke Fors took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Henriksson. Tony Henriksson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Bo Kruuse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Håkan Söderberg having to interfere. Degerfors IF's Philip Kihlman managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jarl Lindström in the 88 minute of the game. If Åke Fors had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Åke Fors came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Degerfors IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Åke Fors couldn't finish the play. Svennis Grabbar FF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
