Spectators: 194 (Terracing: 146, Seating: 45, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rodney Urbina kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guy Becerra to maneuver through the defense. Jim Mitchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrad Carrington in the 6th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Independiente's zone, J.P. Delarosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Ángel Santoro came out of the goal and J.P. Delarosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hayden Winslow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Jim Mitchell managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when C. A. Independiente's Rodney Urbina fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 26th minute of the match C. A. Independiente got a corner. Santos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Claudio Arzeno ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jim Mitchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrad Carrington in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Byron Kane got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, C. A. Independiente's Conrad Carrington dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Wallace Whatley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Mitchell having to interfere. With a little luck, Santos FC's Jim Mitchell got control of the ball when Rodney Urbina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santos FC's Jim Mitchell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. Benito Hyde charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benito Hyde the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Jim Mitchell came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Independiente's Conrad Carrington. But to his dismay, Conrad Carrington quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Gilbert Guzman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos FC's Jim Mitchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodney Urbina in the 59th minute of play. Jim Mitchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodney Urbina in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Conrad Carrington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Mitchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rusty Little kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Conrad Carrington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C. A. Independiente's Gilbert Guzman quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jamar Maxwell, made in the 81st minute of the game. Conrad Carrington struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jim Mitchell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodney Urbina in the 84th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Jim Mitchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilbert Guzman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jim Mitchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Guzman in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rusty Little hit a great ball. Jim Mitchell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Arzeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After 93 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Jamar Maxwell. C. A. Independiente's Rodney Urbina got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
