Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domenico Hooper in the 6th minute of play. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Gregg Hannah hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the game, C. A. Independiente's Gilbert Guzman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robert Bambas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrad Carrington in the 16th minute of play forced Brannik's goalkeeper Robert Bambas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Brannik's J.P. Scott got a free kick in the 18th minute. Robert Bambas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrad Carrington in the 23rd minute of play. Wallace Whatley hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Robert Bambas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodney Urbina in the 30th minute of the match. Brannik's Robert Bambas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrad Carrington in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Brannik's Carlo Dempsey got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Robert Bambas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrad Carrington in the 35th minute of play. C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Brannik's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Claudio Arzeno took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Claudio Arzeno got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Robert Bambas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Robert Bambas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Guzman in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Independiente's zone, Pat Holcomb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Ángel Santoro came out of the goal and Pat Holcomb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodney Urbina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wallace Whatley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Robert Bambas made a huge save. In the 53rd minute, Domenico Hooper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conrad Carrington's late challenge caught a Brannik's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrad Carrington helped the player get up and apologised. 61 minutes into the match, Brannik's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Guzman came free, but Robert Bambas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilbert Guzman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Robert Bambas made a huge save. Wallace Whatley hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Domenico Hooper's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Ángel Santoro was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Rodney Urbina could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Robert Bambas however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Guzman in the 72nd minute of play forced Brannik's goalkeeper Robert Bambas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Bambas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wallace Whatley in the 74th minute of play. The throw-in from J.P. Scott in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C. A. Independiente's Gilbert Guzman. In the 80th minute, C. A. Independiente's Rodney Urbina ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robert Bambas. Robert Bambas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. 87 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Omblets came free, but Miguel Ángel Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodney Urbina came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Robert Bambas could save by the left post. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Omblets, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Conrad Carrington got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 97 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Conrad Carrington. C. A. Independiente's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
