Tommie Kirkpatrick was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 10 minutes, Flint Barger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO and the Creekers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Flint Barger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Preston Esposito acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 11th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Emerson Higgins. When King Byrd came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that King Byrd couldn't finish the play. Darnell Elias charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darnell Elias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darnell Elias to maneuver through the defense. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Preston Esposito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Gamble in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Creekers's goal looked a bit too open when Pascal Sheldon came free, but Tommie Kirkpatrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Creekers defense, Pascal Sheldon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommie Kirkpatrick. The Creekers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommie Kirkpatrick should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that King Byrd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommie Kirkpatrick was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 28 minutes into the game, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Glen Hawk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommie Kirkpatrick made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 34 minutes into the match, Pascal Sheldon notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Creekers's Tommie Kirkpatrick. Tommie Kirkpatrick was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Willard Dubois hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's King Byrd got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gary Gamble in the 45th minute of play forced DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's goalkeeper Preston Esposito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommie Kirkpatrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from King Byrd in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pascal Sheldon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. King Byrd's late challenge caught a Creekers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. King Byrd helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by King Byrd to maneuver through the defense. When Glen Hawk fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's protests and gave Glen Hawk a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Glen Hawk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Preston Esposito came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Creekers's Gary Gamble. But to his dismay, Gary Gamble quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. 62 minutes into the match, Creekers's goal looked a bit too open when Milton Arthur came free, but Tommie Kirkpatrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute King Byrd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommie Kirkpatrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute Gary Gamble shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Preston Esposito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Creekers's Tommie Kirkpatrick got control of the ball when Pascal Sheldon tried to sneak it across the goal line. The DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Pascal Sheldon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tommie Kirkpatrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by King Byrd in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's goal looked a bit too open when Gary Gamble came free, but Preston Esposito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Gary Gamble cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-6. Preston Esposito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 86th minute, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's King Byrd dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-7. 90 minutes into the game, Creekers's Gary Gamble nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Preston Esposito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-7. 95 minutes into the match, Creekers's goal looked a bit too open when King Byrd came free, but Tommie Kirkpatrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
