After 9 minutes, Armando Mendonça mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ÓKINJÔ FC and the Delta FS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, ÓKINJÔ FC's Armando Mendonça got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, ÓKINJÔ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andaka Cueto came free, but Teófilo Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delta FS's Tarcísio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Garcia in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, ÓKINJÔ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Ramalho came free, but Teófilo Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Telmo Miguéis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Teófilo Barbosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tarcísio Leite made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Olívio Mendes sent off a good shot on target. Silvestre Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Tarcísio Leite made a huge save. 38 minutes into the match, Silvestre Garcia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Delta FS's Tarcísio Leite. Tarcísio Leite was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silvestre Garcia struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Tarcísio Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ÓKINJÔ FC. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Telmo Miguéis to make the kick off. Tarcísio Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Hamilton Portugal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Olívio Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 63rd minute, Armando Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ÓKINJÔ FC's Teófilo Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save ÓKINJÔ FC from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute Telmo Miguéis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teófilo Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delta FS's Vasco Ribas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Teófilo Barbosa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tarcísio Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Barbosa in the 76th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Silvestre Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ÓKINJÔ FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvestre Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teófilo Barbosa came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Delta FS's Andaka Cueto. But to his dismay, Andaka Cueto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Tarcísio Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Delta FS's Hamilton Portugal got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute of the match Silvestre Garcia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tarcísio Leite skillfully saved the ball. In the 89th minute Min Nao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcísio Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Telmo Miguéis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Teófilo Barbosa came out and tried to block the shot, but Telmo Miguéis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute Silvestre Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcísio Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tarcísio Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Mendonça in the 96th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Delta FS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
