Óscar Abrantes came out of the goal and Carlos Luna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute of the match Gremio Viana got a corner. TAVIRA FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antonio Calisto ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Gremio Viana's Antonio Calisto to fire away a dangerous shot which Óscar Abrantes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TAVIRA FC's goalie prevented a goal. Óscar Abrantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Luna in the 14th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes TAVIRA FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Sequeira. 19 minutes into the match, Alfonso Frisco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vicente Paixão, 1-0. The throw-in from Ivo Sequeira in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gremio Viana's José Ventura. Carlos Luna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Óscar Abrantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Luna, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Carlos Luna might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Óscar Abrantes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Luna ran back to his position shaking his head. Óscar Abrantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Luna in the 29th minute of the match. Luis Alberto Brandao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, TAVIRA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Luna came free, but Óscar Abrantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Óscar Abrantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Luna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Luis Alberto Brandao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute, Ivo Sequeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Óscar Abrantes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Luna's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfonso Frisco to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, TAVIRA FC's Ivo Sequeira got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when TAVIRA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Sequeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to TAVIRA FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ivo Sequeira hit a great ball. Óscar Abrantes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luis Alberto Brandao showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, TAVIRA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Luna came free, but Óscar Abrantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Antonio Calisto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Óscar Abrantes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Carlos Luna came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Gremio Viana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Luna couldn't finish the play. Gremio Viana's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
