The score was now 2-0. If Armindo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldo Barbosa made in the 17th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gremio Viana's José Ventura. Gremio Viana's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antonio Calisto in the 22nd minute. Ronaldo Barbosa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Ronaldo Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AD Pontassolense's protests and gave Ronaldo Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when AD Pontassolense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gremio Viana's Lourenço Passos couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for AD Pontassolense. With a little luck, AD Pontassolense's Jesualdo Maltez got control of the ball when Carlos Luna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jesualdo Maltez made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Carlos Luna sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Gremio Viana's Adalberto Amaro got a free kick in the 34th minute. Vicente Paixão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvador Fraga in the 45th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Vicente Paixão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Luna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Armindo Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gremio Viana's supporters rose to their feet, but Armindo Marques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 66th minute, Ronaldo Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute, Carlos Luna made a precise shot to the right of Jesualdo Maltez. AD Pontassolense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. When Antonio Calisto came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Gremio Viana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Calisto couldn't finish the play. AD Pontassolense's Jesualdo Maltez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Luna in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Luna in the 91st minute of play forced AD Pontassolense's goalkeeper Jesualdo Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Valido to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th match minute, AD Pontassolense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gremio Viana had won after a very even match.
