The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Gavin Vogt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute Ignazio Studer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quirino Courtemanche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute, Bonifatius Scarano made a precise shot to the right of Quirino Courtemanche. SalentoUnited's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Giuliano Baumann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quirino Courtemanche read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. SalentoUnited's Quirino Courtemanche proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save SalentoUnited from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Verplanken got free with Quirino Courtemanche in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignazio Studer in the 16th minute of play forced SalentoUnited's goalkeeper Quirino Courtemanche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quirino Courtemanche came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by 1. FC Union Weberei's Erik Hertzog. But to his dismay, Erik Hertzog quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The supporters of 1. FC Union Weberei booed when SalentoUnited was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagobert Emmenegger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Bonifatius Scarano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Quirino Courtemanche, 3-0. Quirino Courtemanche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignazio Studer in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Erik Hertzog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quirino Courtemanche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the SalentoUnited defense, Erik Hertzog kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quirino Courtemanche. The SalentoUnited fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quirino Courtemanche should have stopped the shot. In the 38th play minute Erik Hertzog came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Quirino Courtemanche. 5-0. Erik Hertzog succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 6-0 in the 40th playminute. 43 minutes into the game, Giuliano Baumann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Quirino Courtemanche was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Quirino Courtemanche made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Erik Hertzog sent off a good shot on target. Quirino Courtemanche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Verplanken in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik Hertzog stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Quirino Courtemanche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignazio Studer, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Daniel Verplanken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quirino Courtemanche. SalentoUnited's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Verplanken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. 56 minutes into the match, SalentoUnited's goal looked a bit too open when Giuliano Baumann came free, but Quirino Courtemanche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quirino Courtemanche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuliano Baumann in the 56th minute of the match. Quirino Courtemanche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignazio Studer, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 80th minute, Ignazio Studer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Quirino Courtemanche was frozen by the shot and now it was 13-0. Giuliano Baumann took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Quirino Courtemanche. Quirino Courtemanche dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 14-0. Quirino Courtemanche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignace Frutig in the 86th minute of play. After 90 minutes of play, 1. FC Union Weberei's Erik Hertzog made it 16-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quirino Courtemanche was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 93 minutes, Erik Hertzog managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1. FC Union Weberei's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Hertzog was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quirino Courtemanche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignace Frutig in the 95th minute of the match. After some careless play in the SalentoUnited defense, Micha Weber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quirino Courtemanche. The SalentoUnited fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quirino Courtemanche should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the 1. FC Union Weberei players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
