The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Hemmersbacher SV getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Gilles Enzel hit a great ball. Alex Kretz charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Kretz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of B68 Toftir booed when Hemmersbacher SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Kretz didn't get a good kick on the ball. B68 Toftir's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Salih Özcan in the 13th minute. B68 Toftir's Salih Özcan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but eAntonio Jetté in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Kretz in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giorgi Mamardashvili saved B68 Toftir from getting behind. In the 18th minute of the match Hemmersbacher SV got a corner. B68 Toftir's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alex Kretz ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitri Faber in the 23rd minute of play forced Hemmersbacher SV's goalkeeper eAntonio Jetté to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giorgi Mamardashvili was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alex Kretz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. eAntonio Jetté showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitri Faber in the 32nd minute of the match. eAntonio Jetté didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romero Widenmeier went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romero Widenmeier made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimitri Faber got free with eAntonio Jetté in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. eAntonio Jetté showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne De Souza in the 52nd minute of the match. Xander Hauri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giorgi Mamardashvili read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute Alex Kretz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giorgi Mamardashvili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. eAntonio Jetté showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romero Widenmeier in the 65th minute of the match. After 68 minutes Hemmersbacher SV's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Salih Özcan who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Hemmersbacher SV's goalie and right to Benjamin Šeško. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Hemmersbacher SV's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Jarno Oderholz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hemmersbacher SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarno Oderholz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giorgi Mamardashvili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Romero Widenmeier kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving eAntonio Jetté. That made the score 2-3 in the 82 minute of play. Benjamin Šeško sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 played minutes, Hemmersbacher SV's Gordy Schweitzer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hemmersbacher SV reached it. Romero Widenmeier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. eAntonio Jetté showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romero Widenmeier, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After 97 played minutes Hemmersbacher SV got a freekick which was hit by Luis Palluzzi. eAntonio Jetté made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Salih Özcan sent off a good shot on target. The B68 Toftir supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing B68 Toftir would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
