The supporters of St. James Gate F.C. booed when Lisburn Distillery F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Burns didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Andrew Brookman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Todd Murphy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrew Brookman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave St. James Gate F.C. the free kick. Leo Burns kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Todd Murphy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Sanchez in the 36th minute of the match. Todd Murphy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Brookman in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of St. James Gate F.C. booed when Lisburn Distillery F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elói Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Prunty might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brian Lambert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roland Prunty ran back to his position shaking his head. Todd Murphy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Sanchez in the 54th minute of the match. Freddy Lowe kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 70thth minute of the game Igor Sanchez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but St. James Gate F.C.'s Todd Murphy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute, Igor Sanchez had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Bodibeua Lester's late challenge caught a Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bodibeua Lester helped the player get up and apologised. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Bobby Connell was substituted for Igor Sanchez. Bodibeua Lester hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Todd Murphy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew Brookman, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s Berchan Gollogley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brian Lambert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Bebhinn Cronin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kevin Crouch took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Todd Murphy. St. James Gate F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in St. James Gate F.C.'s zone, Andrew Brookman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Todd Murphy came out of the goal and Andrew Brookman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s Berchan Gollogley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brian Lambert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Bobby Connell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Lisburn Distillery F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lisburn Distillery F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
