Olav Westad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Remme in the 4th minute of the match. Emanuel Markham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Olav Westad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 9 minutes of play, Brufoss IL's Christer Ribe made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olav Westad was left in no man's land by his defense there! Olav Westad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christer Ribe went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Markham was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Brufoss IL booed when Sagene IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thorbjørn Sandøy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olav Westad was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kent Remme showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 52 minute of play. In the 57th minute, Kai Østbye reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Olav Westad. The goal made the score 0-6. Brufoss IL's Kent Remme got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Brufoss IL's Emanuel Markham slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olav Westad. That made the score 0-7 after 65 minutes of play. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Kevin Strømsnes replaced Jan-Kenneth Heistad. Olav Westad made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Frode Tobiassen sent off a good shot on target. Brufoss IL's Borys Witek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole-Einar Opsahl in the 74th minute of play. With a little luck, Sagene IF's Olav Westad got control of the ball when Emanuel Markham tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute, Frode Tobiassen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olav Westad was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. In the 90th minute, Brufoss IL's Kent Remme ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olav Westad. Olav Westad yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-10. Sagene IF's Olav Westad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Sagene IF from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Brufoss IL left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sagene IF.
